About The Game

Resolutions First, in partnership with Music Stuff, has produced ‘Bully High’ - an interactive game designed to help 9-16 year olds explore and understand bullying.

Bully High is a realistic and challenging game that raises awareness of bullying behaviour, explores feelings and emotions and provides practical strategies for dealing with bullying. It is designed for 3-6 players.

Bully High has been developed to specifically meet the aims as set out in the Department for Education and Skills' Anti-Bullying guidance ‘Don’t suffer in Silence’. The game is also an ideal tool to introduce and explore the Social, Emotional and Behavioural Skills (SEBS) programme (DfES, 2004), Citizenship Curriculum (KS2/3) and the KS3 National Behaviour and Attendance Strategy.

Whilst playing the game, based in a mixed Manchester comprehensive school, players will experience real conflicts and bullying as identified by pupils. Encounters such as having a mobile stolen to moving house, sleepovers to class rumours, SATS to Saturday night at McDonalds, new friendships, old arguments and nasty text messages. Players go face to face with the bully by answering questions and challenges with the help of friends, teachers and support staff, learning how to manage difficult situations, identifying bullying, support those being bullied and understand why and how bullying takes place.

Bully High has been evaluated by Manchester University's Educational Psychology department, and the evaluation concluded that it was a very useful resource.
